There are a multitude of reasons that a customer may request a site visit from one of our representatives, and as schedules allow, we’re happy to get a visit on the books.

Measuring Multiple Applications

There are some situations where the volume of potential BFM fitting applications may be too much for the facility. Specifically when this is a new endeavor for a plant, there may be many BFM fitting application opportunities. It may be helpful to have our representative on-site working side by side with a maintenance person to ensure that proper measurements are taken and documented for project advancement.

Solutions Assistance

Another instance that an on-site representative might be beneficial is when all areas where a BFM fitting may be utilized isn’t clear. Our staff are able to offer insight where BFM fittings will be successful and offer solutions for potentially difficult installations. After fifteen years of application experiences, we’re able to quickly assess areas of opportunity and instances where the BFM fitting won’t be successful.

Training & Troubleshooting

If we’re already on-site to measure, this can also be a good opportunity to speak to maintenance staff about proper installation and use of BFM fittings. Training and re-training can certainly be an added bonus of a site visit. Troubleshooting may also be feasible during a site visit to ensure all BFM fitting installations are working properly and that sizing is correct.

How to Prepare for a Site Visit

When you’re prepping for a site visit from a PSI representative, there are a few ways that you and your staff can prepare for the visit.

You can plan to include group leaders so that they can see what the BFM fitting is, if they haven’t already been introduced to it. Engineering managers, maintenance managers, and EHS specialists can benefit from joining in on the meeting and discussing opportunities and questions.

In an ideal world, a plant staff member would be available to walk around with our BFM specialist. An assistant can help take notes and discuss certain areas of the facility for a timely and efficient measuring experience.
